Lekestue

Context: I am a queer person, born and raised in Oslo, Norway, with the exeption of one year spent in Berlin. My Father is form Iran and my mother is Norwegian. My parents got married exactly six months before my birth and have stayed married (appart form one year separation) since then. My mum, as well as my dad, have been very wanting of me having a connection and understanding of the Iranian culture in addition to the Norwegian I was directly raised in. This has resulted in a very mixed preception of what it means to be a man for me.

This little collection of clothes explore the norms and mindsets around what a man should and should not wear. From sensual, revealing garments, usually seen on a man to a suit I personally find empowering and a ritual set of clothing reflecting on the relationship between me and the other men in my family.

(The end result was presented as a bound book  in a small-scale fashion show.)
