Postcards to Ailo
This genderless children’s book takes inspiration from the surreal. It is based on the fact that close to none of the characters presented to me as a kid were of a binary gender-identity. Additionally, there were no same-sex couples.
Postcards to Ailo tells the story of Maija and Ailo, two persons without any attached gender. As a result a kid can for themself decide wether it is a homo- or hetero-romantic story, or wether it is just about two friends. Nonetheless, there are no restrictions due to gender.
The book consists of multiple cards in a box, so that the kid can look at the illustrated card inbetween the the text, functioning as a treat in-between the text.
